An Introduction to Australian Built Asset Consultancy (ABAC) Pty Ltd
ABAC Pty Ltd was founded in 2021 by its managing director Antony Johnson who has 25 years of
industry experience, and the company specialises in construction consultancy services. Antony brings
together construction consultancy experience gained at leading companies such as Cost Consultancy
Services (Asia), DG Jones (Australia), EC Harris and Arcadis (Middle East), and MP Cordia &
Associates (Australia). He has worked on projects in Australia, Asia (Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Hong
Kong), Middle East (UAE, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia) as a Senior Consultant and Service
Leader.
Antony has a Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying (with a first class grade, completed in 1999)
and Master’s degree in Applied Science (Building and BE, RMIT, completed in 2004).
Antony is also currently on the RICS APC Panels (PM and QS streams) as the Chairman and
Assessor, and he is a Chartered QS (MRICS from 2006 with registration No 1237974) and Member of
the AIQS (MAIQS from 2005 with registration No 5326). These are the leading global professional
institutes which look after the interests of the quantity surveying, project management, and other
construction related professionals.
Our key Australian employees have previously worked with D G Jones Australia and MP Cordia &
Associates and some have over 40 years of local and international consulting and construction
experience. Thus, the ABAC team’s professional experience spans over 40 years mainly in providing
construction consultancy and property advisory services including to some of the world’s leading
private and public clients.

Quantity Surveying (QS) (and Cost and Commercial Management)
This is our core service based on our substantial market and service delivery knowledge, experience, and expertise. We ensure the certainty of the cost, and our advice will be based on the best practices.
Contract Solutions (CS) (Contract and Claims Management)
The state-of-the art contract solution service deals with the design of the contract, procurement advice, contract negotiation and award, contract administration, claims assessment and defence, mediation, and negotiations.
Risk Management (RM)
This is also our prime and value-added service aimed at the owners, developers and financiers and is based on a wealth of our service delivery experience on projects of all sizes including megaprojects (worth over A$1.37bn or US$1bn) working for investors in all sectors.
Property Advisory Services (PAS)
As we work across full spectrum of the construction sectors and clients/parties, we can provide professional, comprehensive, risk management, and technical 'project specific' advice on the investment from acquisition throughout their life cycle.
Project Management (PM)
From the outset we are the client's independent representative providing advice and assurance on each project representing the Client's interests first and foremost at every stage of the development process. To us, effective project management means proactive risk management, excellence in construction, and meeting client’s business case objectives and goals.

Though we are Melbourne based, YES we can deliver services though our partners in other Australian cities as well as in the international arena.
As we are a small organisation with 10 staff members (however we can tap into wider and talented staff pool, if required), our fees are very competitive. Probably the lowest in the Melbourne market.
